everyone Poops - What Your Poop May Be Trying to Tell You

7 Lies We Tell Our Doctors

I have to admit up front, this is going to be the crappiest article I've ever written.

You see, as I was walking my dogs Marty and Rosie the other day, it occurred to me that poop plays a huge role in my life. I'm not afraid to admit it. I pick up after my dogs every day, I scoop my cat's litter box every day (Ok, not Every day, but it assuredly feels that way), and I talk with my clients about their bowel movements. In fact, while I was in India this past summer, poop was assuredly the whole one topic of conversation between my colleagues and me, as we compared notes on who had diarrhea and who was still healthy. I even remained on "poop watch," for several weeks after my return to the States, development sure that everything was Ok (and thankfully, it was!)

So, if you are a pet owner, parent, health care professional, or world traveler, you probably know what I mean!

But many habitancy don't get to talk about poop as much as I do. I know this because when I ask habitancy about their poop, I often get blank stares and uncomfortable looks. So, I let's talk about all of the questions that habitancy want answered but are usually afraid to ask. After all, your poop is an leading indicator of your unabridged health!

What is Poop?

Have you ever wondered what poop assuredly is? About 75% of your average poop is water, although this will vary depending on the person. Water is absorbed out of fecal material as it passes straight through the large intestine, so the longer you take to "go," the drier your poop will be.

The remaining 25% is comprised of dead bacteria that helped us suck in our food, living bacteria, protein, undigested food residue (also known as fiber), waste material from food, cellular linings, fats, cholesterol, salts, protein, and substances released from the liver and the intestines (such as mucus).

What Makes a salutary Poop?

Your feces are a clear indicator of the health of your gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Mehmet Oz says, "At the end of the day you can analyze your body assuredly effectively by looking at what comes out of your body."

So what should you look for? A salutary poop will be:
Golden brown, which is due to pigments formed by the bacteria in the gut and bile from the liver. You want to make sure the color is normal because that tells you a lot about what's going on in your gastrointestinal tract (more on color below). Formed into one long shape. Dr. Michael Levitt, an Australian colorectal surgeon who has written a book called The Bowel Book, says that the salutary human stool resembles the shape and consistency (although not the same color) of an unripe banana. Dr. Oz says " You don't want [pieces]." Some experts disagree, saying they don't have to be well- formed. Patrick Donovan, N.D., a naturopath in Seattle, Wa says "Stools don't have to be well- formed logs. They can disperse in the toilet water; they can break down." Nearly odorless. About 1 to 2 inches in diameter and 18 inches long.
What About Other Colors?

Sometimes we don't see that "golden guru," and are faced with something else instead. Here's some understanding into what those other colors might mean.
Black: Feces can be black if dried blood is gift in it from internal bleeding in the upper digestive tract. See a doctor if this is the case. Very Dark Brown: Drinking wine the night before may corollary in dark brown poop. This could also be the corollary of eating too much salt, or not enough vegetables. Yellow: One health that can cause yellow poop is an infection known as giardia, a hazardous infection that can spread to others. Another cause of yellow poop may be a health known as Gilbert's syndrome. See your doctor if you are consistently looking yellow poop. Green: Babies often have green poop when they are given food for the first time. Children may have green or blue poop from inevitable illnesses or from ingesting food colorings. Adults may also have green poop if they eat large amounts of green, leafy vegetables or if they eat large amounts of foods with green food coloring. Light green poop may indicate excessive sugar in the diet. Green feces can also occur with diarrhea if bile salts pass straight through the intestine unchanged. Again, see a doctor if you are concerned! White/pale: Feces can appear white or pale after drinking barium sulfate, which is often given to patients getting an X-ray of the digestive tract. A white or pale stool may also be an indication of problems with the gallbladder or liver. Red: fascinating red in the feces may be indicative of active bleeding, perhaps the corollary of hemorrhoids. A magenta color may corollary form eating intense red food coloring, or red foods such as beets.
How Often Should I Poop?

Ah - the big question! Experts disagree on how often a man should poop. The National fabricate for Diabetes, Kidney, and Digestive Diseases says three times a week is normal and salutary for some people. According to Ayurveda, an antique Indian medical system, once a day is ideal. Other experts advocate once or twice a day, while still others say a man should have a bowel movement within two to three hours of a major meal- -or two to three times a day. So you can see that it assuredly depends on who you talk to. My personal opinion is that you above all want to be regular in your pooping schedule, and that one poop a day is ideal.

When man poops four times a day or more and the poop has a liquid consistency, this is referred to as diarrhea. When man poops less than two or three days a week and the poop is hard, dry, and difficult to pass, this is known as constipation.

What's the Deal with Corn?

It's funny, so it's Ok to laugh. But most habitancy I know have experienced it and they ask why it is that when you eat corn, the next time you poop there it is again! There are a join of reasons for this. One is that most of us do not completely chew our food. Another fascinating tidbit I've learned that there is an outer coating on corn that is made up of indigestible cellulose. This outer coating slips off the inner kernel and, since it's indigestible, passes straight through the gut intact. It then emerges looking like a whole kernel, even though it's just the outer skin. The inside of the kernel is starchy and digestible, and that is the part that we corollary in chewing and digesting.

Well, hopefully you know now a lot more about this leading topic. And that's the scoop on poop!

For instance, a Cbc (complete blood count) is used to part the level of various blood cells, such as white blood cells and red blood cells. On the other hand, a chemistry panel measures the level of various electrolytes (such as sodium and potassium) and other chemicals in your blood. This report focuses on chemistry panels and their significance.

Indications: Serum chemistry tests can be quite basic or very extensive. Some panels comprise 6 or 7 tests while others may have 20 or more. A basic chemistry profile focuses on the most vital blood chemistries, such as blood sodium and potassium levels and evidence of kidney disease. On the other hand, unabridged profiles comprise more tests, such as test to correlate the function of your liver. These tests give a more detailed photo of your unabridged health.

There are numerous chemical substances in the blood. A major aberration in the concentration of determined ones can be immediately life-threatening. For instance, when the blood sodium level is very high it can lead to coma, or even death. On the other hand, an abnormal level of an additional one chemical substance in the profile may plainly be the effect of a diseased organ, but of itself is not perilous to the body. An example of this is elevation of the enzymes Alt or Ast. Elevation of whether or both of these enzymes is an indicator of liver inflammation, which can be due to many distinct causes.

Potential Risks: This plainly requires habit venipuncture, so the risk is minimal.

Terms your physician may use when discussing this test with you:
Alkaline phosphatase - an enzyme that, when elevated, typically signifies liver or bone abnormalities
Alt - an enzyme that is ticket of liver abnormalities
Ast - an additional one enzyme that is a ticket of liver abnormalities
bicarbonate - an indicator of the acid-base equilibrium of the blood
Bun (blood urea nitrogen) - a substance that generally indicates how well the kidneys are functioning
chloride - an prominent chemical in the blood
creatinine - a substance that indicates how well the kidneys are functioning
glucose - blood sugar. A sustained high glucose level indicates diabetes. (Anyone can have an elevation of the blood sugar level just after eating.)
hypercalcemia - a high blood calcium concentration
hyperkalemia - a high blood potassium concentration
hypernatremia - a high sodium concentration
hyperuricemia - a high blood uric acid concentration. Uric acid is the substance that leads to gout.
hypokalemia - a low blood potassium concentration
hyponatremia - a low blood sodium concentration

What Your doctor is Likely to Tell You About Penis Enlargement

7 Lies We Tell Our Doctors

We are often told to seek our doctors' blessings, before embarking on any major condition projects. And it is acting on that piece of advice that you may have decided to precede your penile enlargement project with a visit to the doctor, to see what his views on male enhancement are, and to seek his blessings before getting started on the project. But just before going on your appointment with the doctor, you could find yourself developing cold feet, as you try to frame out what the doctor is likely to tell you. So you go online in a bid to see what the accepted healing system's view of penis enlargement is, and end up on this discussion. We will march to explore with you some of the things your doctor is likely to tell you about penis enlargement.

For starters, it is worth noting that the doctor will most probably not be surprised that you are finding for penis enlargement. It is a well known thing, in the healing establishment, that most men are not satisfied with their penis sizes. So don't go blushing to your doctor about your penile size problem: it is not likely to be so much of a surprise to him. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that the concerns men have about penile size have given birth to a clinically identifiable healing condition, known as penis size anxiety - but whose rehabilitation tends to take a psychiatric, rather than a physiological, approach.

To be sure, your doctor is likely to have some reservations about your desire for penis enlargement. From a healing point of view, most penises that habitancy seek to enlarge would be considered more than satisfactory. The doctor takes a pragmatic look of these matters - and inasmuch as the organ is big sufficient to allow for the passage of urine (for excretion) and semen (for reproduction), the doctor is likely to tell you that it is adequate.

Consequently, the doctor is likely to try and disabuse you of the thought that a bigger penis necessarily translates to good carrying out in bed. In this regard, he is likely to point out that sex, to women, tends to be more of an emotional (rather than physical) affair.

If you tell your doctor that you are still keen on increasing the size of your penis, he is likely to express an interest in knowing how you will go about it. Don't expect your doctor be approving of those penis enlargement pills and patches habitancy use so much: these are products that the accepted healing theory frowns upon.

If you must have penis enlargement done, your doctor is likely to tell you, then you need to submit for the sort of plastic surgery known as penile enlargement surgery. This, the doctor is likely to tell you, does not come cheap. It is also a collection of surgery that comes with its own (more than fair share of) risks, together with the risk of messing up with the whole organ in the process. Your doctor may also point out that the results of penis enlargement surgery, which is the only penile enlargement approach he can clinically approve of, tend to be underwhelming.

With such information, the doctor is likely to leave it up to you to rule where or not you still need to go feel penis enlargement, and if yes, how you will go about it.

Vaginal thrush, also called yeast infection or candidiasis, is an overgrowth of yeast that leads to a series of nasty symptoms (itching and soreness.) If the natural yeast already in the body masses this causes thrush. This yeast is mostly known as Candida albicans and Candida glabrata is yeast known for causing thrush.

We all carry yeast in and on their bodies without any tribulations. Yeast is ordinarily settled in the intestines, vagina, mouth and skin, where 'harmless' bacteria help keep yeast levels low. You are likely to be suffering from thrush if you are experiencing itching, burning, soreness, swelling of the vagina and vulva and have a yeasty-smelling discharge. Burning and itching can be so severe it is difficult to resist scratching, but you have to be steadfast and avoid scratching as it can make matters worse. Thrush irritates the weak tissue of the vagina, development it sore, swollen and red. Because of this, the inflammation may have you feel pain when urinating if the urine stream touches the inflamed skin. More pain can rise from sitting and walking.

If you see a turn in vaginal extraction either or not it be what we say is a normal thrush type extraction (white thick and smells strongly of yeast) you must still check it out.

Vaginal Pimples - How To Treat And Tell If Your Vaginal Acne Is Herpes Or Genital Warts

7 Lies We Tell Our Doctors

Have you spotted or felt what seems like a vaginal pimple and shocked because you never believed there was such a thing; well there is and don't be shocked. Aside from the usual sweaty crotch and tight clothing being a integrate of likely reasons for pimples, there are of procedure the more serious causes which is when a physician will be needed.

To help forestall vaginal acne, the vagina and surrounding area must be allowed to breathe. Suffocating the Minnie will only encourage sweat, irritation and smell. A blemish that appears red, raised and with a white top is plainly classed a pimple, and why wouldn't it be, because isn't that what pimples look like, nevertheless it could be a symptom of another infection like genital warts, herpes, or an inflammation of the hair follicles. Population tend to link pimples with the face only, development the vagina seem an odd place to get them, but, wherever you have pores pimples can come.

(Pimples are normally 1 to 3 millimetres in size filled with pus or sebasceous material - in the vagina they can be bigger and called 'inclusion cysts'. If tiny, copious and filled with clear fluid - they are called 'vesicles' and these could be Hsv, (herpes) typically sore and sting but rarely itchy.)

If you think you have a vaginal pimple or two, or even three, not to worry they are not life threatening and treatable.

A blocked sebaceous gland that's infected can cause pimples, as well as an ingrown hair, and as tempting as it is to squeeze a spot that's a result of one of these two, you mustn't do it. If you've already attacked the zit, or its burst, clean the area to keep it free from bacteria.

Symptoms of some sexually transmitted diseases bring pimples. If you're sure a sexually transmitted infection is not the cause of the vaginal acne, rehabilitation is much similar to what is used for removing pimples from the face.

A coarse cause of pimples you're likely aware of if you suffer normally from acne and been looking for a cure, is through skin-cell build-up, grime and excess oil that clog the pores. Using straightforward techniques you can treat pimples caused by energetic sebaceous glands, bacteria in the pores or hormonal swings, that is, if infection is not involved. Vaginal tissue is very sensitive so remember this if you're looking to yourself without the help of a doctor.

1. Stop harmful bacterium in its tracks by keeping the vaginal area less moist and clammy. Although the vagina is a self cleansing organ, give it that extra boost with warm water for freshness. normally antibacterial soap is used, but some can be severe, so try feminine fragrance-free cleansing products.

2. If the skin around the vagina is itchy and turns red - think changing washing powder or soap, because both can cause irritation to sensitive skin.

3. Scarring and infection can occur from squeezing pimples. If pus spreads, a new acne can start. Try treating the pimples using a hot compress, not so hot that it burns the skin. Place the compress over the pimple to soften the skin. This reduces pain and urges the pimple to burst. The National Institutes of health suggests this be done on pimples caused by folliculitis, or an inflammation of the hair follicle.

Another favorite remedy is the sitz bath made with Epsom salts. Not only does this soothe and cleanse, it helps say dryness in the area. Add one-half to one cup of Epsom salts to 3 to 4 inches of bath water.

If all fails to sort the qoute go and see your Gp. Some doctors will prescribe oral medications, antibiotics, and even birth operate to regulate hormonal changes. It's unlikely topical ointments will be given because of sensitivity in the region. Having said that it will depend on what the physician sees the best procedure of activity to treat the vaginal pimples.

Ruptured Cyst Symptoms - How to Tell If Your Ovarian Cyst Has Ruptured

7 Lies We Tell Our Doctors

When you are first diagnosed with an ovarian cyst, you may wonder what will happen. For most women, the cyst will clear up without any problems. However, there are two complications of ovarian cysts that you need to be aware of. These are a ruptured ovarian cyst, and ovarian torsion.

Ruptured Cyst Symptoms

A ruptured ovarian cyst occurs when the cyst grows too large. An ovarian cyst is ordinarily a membrane filled with a clear liquid, kind of like a bubble. When the cyst grows, it stretches the membrane. If it keeps growing, at last the membrane can not hold all in, and so it ruptures. This then releases the liquid inside.

When the cyst ruptures, you will first feel a sharp, intense pain. It will be extremely intense. You likely will not be able to talk or move. Usually, this subsides in a few minutes and is followed by a burning. This is caused by the liquid irritating the surrounding area.

In some cases, you may also start bleeding. This is especially true if you had an endometrial cyst. This will be like a period, only generally in the middle of your cycle.

If the ruptured cyst goes untreated, the biggest risk of infection. If this sets in, you'll have a fever, chills, and sometimes even symptoms of shock. This is why it prominent to seek medical medicine as soon as you suspect you have a ruptured cyst.

Ovarian Torsion

With ovarian torsion the cyst grows large sufficient to cause the ovary to twist downwards. This cuts off the blood supply, which will cause intense pain. If it's not treated right away, the ovary could die and cause further complications.

When to Seek medical Attention

A good rule of thumb is to taste your doctor any time your pain increases drastically. While some women will taste constant pain with a large ovarian cyst, if it ruptures or twists, the pain will get much worse. It's best to call your doctor right away to rule out a qoute then wait and see if it goes away, because you could get a much worse complication.

Generally, the medicine for a ruptured cyst is to start on antibiotics right away and stay in the hospital overnight to be observed to make sure you don't have internal bleeding. Most women do not, but if you do, you may need surgical operation to fix it. Ovarian torsion will need surgical operation to fix.

What Not to Tell Your Doctor?

7 Lies We Tell Our Doctors

For many years since medicine has been established as an
ethical profession and gained whole credence people
have believed that they could and should tell their doctor
everything even remotely pertinent to their health and that
it was held in the strictest confidence. Furthermore, how
can the doctor make accurate judgments when leading or
significant information is missing? This law worked very
well until relatively recently but there now exists a breach
of this reliance that people should know about and this
breach has industrialized from the advent of third party
investigations into people's backgrounds. Your medical
records are no longer confidential because you are forced to
reveal them. Let us look at some scenarios.

When visiting your doctor's office on a Monday not feeling
well you tell him/her that you occasionally drink a half
case of beer over the weekend. Believing in the
confidentially of your records you forget about it. Some
time later when you apply for life guarnatee the company
requires you to sign a release for your healing records. (No
release, no application.) The underwriters discover your
records, note the extra beer, and subsequently rate your
premiums higher manufacture you pay extra for decades, thousands
of dollars.

You complain to your doctor of recurrent chest pain.
Investigation reveals nothing, the pain resolves
permanently and you have no added follow-up to document
the benign resolution. all is O.K. Ah, but not
really. Those words sit there permanently in the record.
Later you apply for a mortgage or health guarnatee or life
insurance, signing a release of your records. You are turned
down flat or at least rated a higher premium.

Perhaps you have opportunity to mention to your doctor that you
have stress, marital discord, job problems, and
mental/emotional problems, etc. You later apply for a job
requiring security clearance or background checks. These
jobs are many and consist of police, security and just about
any job absorbing real responsibility. Despite having
resolved the problems guess who might not get the job?
You may never find out why, either.

You injure your hand and you admit to your doctor that you
punched a wall in anger. It could be the only time you ever
did something like that but guess what? Those words will
sit there forever and be taken as evidence of emotional
instability. Want to try for a responsible job?

It genuinely is a shame to see someone pay higher
life guarnatee premiums for decades or be passed over for a
job they genuinely want because of an entry in their medical
record.

What can be done about this dilemma? (Webster: A predicament
that defies a satisfactory solution.) Your concerns must be
balanced against the doctor's need for information and his
real need to document what he/she closed and why. A
correct clarification would be very welcome but one is not
apparent.

The best advent might be the following: Tell your doctor
the truth and discuss with him/her your concerns regarding
your description advent back to hurt you and how this can be
managed
in the best way. In the case of your qoute turning out
to be benign then make sure the description reflects this
outcome and
is satisfactory to you At That Time. Don't be required to
scramble nearby years later trying to accurate it. That's
lame at best and you probably won't even get a chance.
Besides, even doctors don't live forever.

If your qoute turns out not to be benign, then there is no
choice but to have it in your record. That's life.

When faced with a dilemma all one can do is make the most
carefully determined decision one can. Work with your doctor
and try to regain a consequent that is best for you. After all,
it's your life.

Just be right out there.
